Remember when they told us—rather dramatically—that the Andromeda Galaxy was on a full-speed collision course with the Milky Way? Like, total galactic car crash, star systems flung into chaos, black holes merging in an interstellar death spiral?
Well… take a breath. Turns out, the scientists—those lovely probability-wielding folks—have just revised their prediction. Now, thanks to updated data from Gaia and Hubble, there’s only a 50% chance that this collision will even happen. And that’s not tomorrow, or next Tuesday during your chakra cleanse. That’s in about 10 billion years. (Which in cosmic terms is… basically never.)
